Our first dental mission in the city of Sonsonate, El Salvador.

Children's dental health in El Salvador faces significant challenges, with high rates of untreated early childhood caries (tooth decay) linked to chronic exposure to sugary drinks and snacks, which are often cheaper than safe drinking water. Lack of education about proper oral hygiene, limited access to dental care, and socio-economic factors contribute to a cycle of decay, pain, and malnutrition. Community-based interventions including education, and distribution of oral care products show promise but face limitations and challenges.
