SONSONATE El Salvador Mission

Sonsonate (Spanish pronunciation: [sonsoˈnate]) is a city and district of El Salvador, with an estimated population of 71,980 inhabitants. The town was founded under the name of "Villa del Espíritu Santo" on vacant lots near the town of los Izalcos in 1552. The following year, in 1553, this villa would be transferred to its current location, with the name of "Villa de la Santísima Trinidad de Sonsonate", in a cocoa-producing area. With time, the town would be known simply by the name of Sonsonate.

First Mission
During this phase, we will conduct our mission at the city hall of Sonsonate and Acajutla. We will provide general check-ups, tooth extractions, and simple fillings. Our goal is to gain a clearer understanding of the overall dental health in these regions. Tooth extractions and dental fillings will be restricted to the use of more advanced equipment. The most complicated cases will be referred to the Medical Center, and we will cover the costs for those treatments.
Second Mission
For our second mission, we aim to support a primary school in a small village. At this juncture, we will rely on basic tools available on-site, along with a team of dentists from Canada and El Salvador.
Our goal is to assist children aged 6 to 13 years old by providing hygiene education, general check-ups, dental cleanings, and cavity fillings.
Third Mission
During the third mission, our objective is to establish a mobile dental clinic. The aim is to reach remote villages that lack dental assistance services. Additionally, we will support a primary school in these small communities. At this stage, we will rely on basic tools on site, along with a team of dentists from Canada and El Salvador.
We aim to serve children aged 6 to 13 years and the general population in these villages. Our services will include hygiene education, general check-ups, dental cleanings, and cavity fillings.
